What do we do to conform with data protection regulations?

1. When browsing you transmit data
Whenever you browse the internet you transmit data to the provider of the pages requested by your internet browser. This is also the case when you browse the pages of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region website.
The Nuremberg Metropolitan Region’s web servers do not record IP addresses or other personal data.
The following information is automatically saved whenever you visit our internet pages:
•    date and time of the request
•    access method/function required by the requesting computer
•    input values transmitted by the requesting computer
•    name of the file requested
•    URL which triggered the request for the file / the desired function
•    information about browsers and operating systems used
•    anonymised IP address

The above data are collected in an anonymised manner for marketing and optimisation purposes. In some areas, the statistics software Goggle Analytics is used for this purpose. Anonymised user profiles may be generated from these data. Cookies may be used for this purpose. Cookies are small text files saved locally in the cache memory of the visitor’s internet browser and enable recognition of the internet browser.

1. Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files which are saved on your computer and which enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookies about your use of the respective internet page will as a rule be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. This website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()”. This means that within the member states of the European Union and other countries which joined the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community, your IP address will first be shortened. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
On our behalf, Google will then use this information to evaluate your use of our website, to generate reports about website activities and to provide further services for the website operator concerning the website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics will not be amalgamated with other Google data.

Users’ personal data will be automatically deleted or anonymised after 14 months. Data which have reached the limit of their storage period will be automatically deleted once per month.

2. Use of Facebook Links
Some pages on our website use the facebook.com button “Share”. This is an external link to facebook.com.
Pages containing an integrated button with the Facebook logo and the text “Share” will generate a link to the Facebook servers once you click on this button. This will transmit to Facebook the information about the page you are requesting. If you are logged in to Facebook when you access this page, Facebook will be able to allocate this page to your Facebook account. If you click on the corresponding buttons, your browser will transmit this information to Facebook and connect them to your account.

2.1 Conversion Tracking Using the Facebook Pixel for User Activity
On some pages of our website we use the “user activity pixel” of Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). It helps us track user activities after they have seen or clicked on a Facebook advert. Thus we can capture the effectiveness of Facebook adverts for statistical and market research purposes. The data captured in this way will be anonymous, i.e. we will not see the personal data of individual users. These data will, however, be stored and processed by Facebook, and we will inform you about this according to our knowledge?information. Facebook will be able to connect these data with your Facebook account and also use them for their own advertising purposes, in accordance with the Facebook Data Usage Policy www.facebook.com/about/privacy. You may permit Facebook and their partners to place adverts on Facebook and beyond. Furthermore, a cookie may be stored on your computer for this purpose. This permission may only be granted by users who are older than 13 years.

3. Newsletter
Our website provides the option of subscribing to the Free Newsletter of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. When you register for the Newsletter, the data from the input screen will be transmitted to us. They include the following:
•    IP address as well as date and time of registration
•    Form of address, surname, first name and email address

In the course of the registration process, you will be asked to permit processing of the data, and you will be referred to this data protection notice.
Your data will be exclusively used to mail the newsletter so that we can send you current information about the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. The data will not be transmitted to third parties.
Your data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer required for achieving the above purpose. Your email address will be stored as long as you have not unsubscribed from our Newsletter. You may unsubscribe using the unsubscribe link included in each newsletter.

4. YouTube
This website uses plug-ins of the YouTube site operated by Google. The site operator is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. Whenever you visit one of our pages which are furnished with a YouTube plug-in, a link to the YouTube servers will be generated.
This will allow the YouTube server to receive information about which page on our website you are visiting. If you are logged in with your YouTube account, this will permit YouTube to allocate your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

5. SSL Encryption
For safety reasons and to protect the transmission of sensitive content such as requests you might send to us as the site operators, this website uses SSL encryption. You can see that a connection is encrypted when the address line of your browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and the lock symbol is displayed in your browser line.
Whenever SSL encryption is activated, third parties will not be able to read the data you transmit to us.
